Eligibility

Physicians trained outside of the U.S. and Canada must be ECFMG certified. To be certified you need to:

-     have graduated from a medical school outside of the United States and Canada

-     have your medical school must be listed in the International Medical Education Directory. If you are a medical school graduate, your graduation year must be included in your school’s IMED listing.

Requirements

Applicants must also satisfy the following examination requirements:

   -     Medical Science Examination. USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 Clinical Knowledge (Step 2 CK) are the exams to satisfy. These exams are given worldwide at Thomson Prometric test centers
 

-         Clinical Skills Requirements. USMLE Step 2 Clinical Skills (Step 2 CS) is the exam to satisfy. Applicants must take this exam at one regional clinical skills evaluation center in the United States (Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia).
